The THRA Heat Management Guide

In November 2024, we published a five-part educational material, the THRA Heat Management Guide. The guide addresses main climate resilience concerns of urban North Indian environments. Across its five chapters, it addresses a short history of heat waves and global warming in the North Indian context, the uneven impact these heat waves have on populations, the health consequences of severe heat exposure, and two case studies of companies that have been able to implement preventive measures for protecting their workforce from heat stroke.

HeatWave Alert Application

Driven by emerging climate issues, we designed and created HeatWave Alert App with MIT App Inventor in June 2025. This app draws real-time information from reliable meteorological APIs. These will give users timely and accurate heat wave forecasts. In order to ensure accessibility, we sought to create a simple and easy-to-use user interface that enables users to take preventative action against extreme heat and receive location-specific alerts. In order to further enhance prediction accuracy and system intelligence, we are also looking into optional machine learning features.
