About the Project

At its core, The Heat Relief Alliance (THRA) is committed to enhancing the well-being of daily wage laborers in northern India by offering innovative support solutions to combat extreme heat. One of the primary ways through which it aims to achieve this is via the creation of a sustainably-designed, portable cooling vest which offers personal temperature regulation in extreme heat conditions for workers. 

In an attempt to complement the development of the same and distribution of heat relief kits , THRA is also dedicated to conducting impactful fundraising efforts within the community. The kits will specifically contain essential heat resilient items such as caps, sunglasses and oral-rehydration salts. 

Apart from immediate on-ground initiatives, the project also recognizes the importance of awareness and aims to design original, informative resources on the heat crisis, in an effort to equip workers and employers with necessary knowledge and drive long-term impact. In this way, by integrating direct relief efforts along with community education, THRA strives to work towards a future that utilizes sustainable solutions in protecting its labor force and standing strong against the effects of climate change.
